The Department of Architecture at the University of Technology, in cooperation with the Women's Empowerment Unit, On Monday, December 5, 2022, hosted a workshop entitled "Bullying against Women: Inherited or Acquired".
The workshop discussed with defining the concept of bullying in general and with women in particular, the bullying Iraqi women are exposed to in some societal environments, whether this bullying is within the family or from society, and whether it is for financial reasons or by virtue of imposing control. Bullying was discussed in Iraqi legal legislations , the law for bullying punishment , the role of the tribal society .The development of solutions to this phenomenon represented by raising awareness and educating were discussed , as well as educating the victim of her rights by confronting family and societal bullying.
The workshop was attended by the scientific assistant, Dr. Mufid Ihsan Shawk, and the administrative assistant, Dr. Ahmed Talib Hameed, in addition to the female teaching staff and employees.
The workshop concluded with the distribution of certificates to the participating guests.
The President of the University of Technology Chess Championship Cup for faculty members and students

The student, Alaa Husein,the fourth stage student, granted the second rank for students, whereas Dr.Mufeed Ihsan Alshok granted the second rank for professors within this competition .Congratulations for us this achievement.

Written by sohaibA welcoming meeting took place for the new students on the first stage On Sunday,November27, 2022, by the head of the department, Prof .Dr. Ibrahim Jawad, and each of the Scientific Assistant Dr. Mufid Ihsan, the Administrative Assistant Dr. Ahmed Talib, the Head of the Architectural Design Branch Dr. Ahmed Loay, the Head of the Urban Design Branch Dr. Nada Abdel Moeen, the first stage director Dr. Mostafa Kamil, , in addition to faculty members of the first stage.
They were welcomed to join the department family, which considered as their second home. In the meeting , the relationship between the student and the professor in general and within the department in particular with regard to the nature of teaching in architecture and the need to communicate and interact with the professor were discussed as well as their desires for their central acceptance in collages . They were also given an introduction to how to study and teach architecture, the tools and supplies that students need in architecture . Wishing them a year full of success and knowledge .

The most outstanding students On Thursday, November 3, 2022, visiting the Central Bank Of Iraq In jadriyah b-Baghdad.
The visit included a close look at the most prominent architectural edifice in the city of Baghdad, as it was designed by the late Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid and implemented by many sober foreign companies, the central bank of Iraq is considered as the highest building in the city with a height of 172 meters.
Where the engineers supervising the project accompanied the students on a tour of the building’s parts, they climbed into the one of the tower’s floors and explained the implementation stages and the details of the connections between the structural, mechanical and electrical systems. The visit concluded with a photo shoot for the groups in front of the tower.

The discussion was held on Sunday, November 6, 2022. At nine A.M, at the postgraduate study hall in the Department of Architectural Engineering at the University of Technology.

The University of Technology Marathon Participation (You Are the Hope, Do Not Be Late)

The marathon held at the University of Technology aiming at spreading awareness of early detection of breast cancer, the marathon was organized by the Student Activities Department in cooperation with the Women Empowerment Department in the (Iraqi Media Network) and the (Huna) team.

The Architecture Department team won its match against the Civil Engineering department team at the University Professors’ Championship.
Written by sohaibThe Architecture Department team won its second successive winning in its match against the Civil Engineering team with a score of 2-0 at the University of Technology Football Championship (professors)for the academic year 2022-2023.
With this winning, the team moved to the second round of its match after the Production Engineering and Metallurgy team, to the second round (the quarterfinals) of the tournament, where it scheduled to meet the Materials Engineering team on Sunday October 30, 2022.
The goals of the match were scored by Assistant Lecturer Mohamed Hassan Mohamed and Assistant lecturer Muhaimin Basim.

Educational Tour- Al-Mutanabi Area
The Department of Architecture at the University of Technology organized an educational tour for fourth stage students On Wednesday, October 19, 2022, to visit the Old Rusafa known as Al-Mutanabi area as part urban design project requirements.
This visit is a part of the annual activities of the Department of Architecture to spread team work spirit among students, increase the awareness of the labor market requirements, increasing their scientific and professional expertise within the architectural engineering as their academic specialization as the department’s annual plan, which aims to raise and build their capabilities in the field of architecture and urban design.

The Architecture Department Team Winning Against Laser Engineering Team in The University Championship for Professors.
Written by sohaibThe Architecture Department Team Winning Against Laser Engineering Team in The University Championship for Professors.
The Architecture Department team won its match against the Laser Engineering team with a score of 3-0 within the University of Technology Football Championship (Professors) for the academic year 2022-2023.
The tournament is organized by the Student Activities Department, with the participation of 16 teams from the engineering and scientific departments at the university.
Assistant lecturer Mohamed Hassan Mohamed scored the first goal in the first half, the graduate student Bilal Hussein scored the second and third goals in the second half. The match ended in a friendly atmosphere between the players of the two teams.

The Department of Architecture at the University of Technology, in cooperation with the Women's Empowerment Unit and Elaf Media Training Center, hosted on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022 a training workshop entitled " Content Creation Workshop for Social Media “
The workshop was attended by the head of the Department of Architecture, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Jawad Kadhim, the scientific assistant, Dr. Mofeed Ihsan Shouk, in addition to faculty staff, female employments and students.
The workshop discussed the purposeful and constructive content creation in social media and ways to avoid the challenges that a content creator might face on social media as digital websites and media connections may have different people with varieties of ideologies and beliefs.
The workshop also included in the practical and applying aspect, where the attendees fill a special model for their pages that they hope to create and ways to develop them.
The workshop concluded with the distribution of participation certificates to the attendees.
Participation of the Graduate Follow-up Unit in the interactive session Titled " Green Baghdad, Challenges and Solutions"

The graduate follow-up unit participated in the department, represented by Lecturer Dr. Bilal Samir Ali and a number of students of the department in the interactive session titled " Green Baghdad, Challenges and Solutions"
Under the auspices of Al-Rasheed Centre for Strategic Studies and the Inlil Youth Team, The session addressed the issues of Iraq's water resources crisis and how to preserve the sustainability of green spaces in Baghdad, the capital, by discussing planning and urban challenges and emphasizing the active presence of youth in circulating the ecological culture of community conduct .
The intellectual Session discussions were held between young people and the attendees from the academics, environmental activists and members of the Iraqi House of parliament .
