Participation of the Architectural Engineering Department in the committees of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers
Written by sohaibThe Head of the Department of Architectural Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Jawad Kazem and the
Lecturer Dr. Ahmed Louay Ahmed / Head of the Architectural Design Branch, at the regular meeting of
the committee (correcting the project implementation process in Iraq using BIM technology), which was
held today, Wednesday, 02/21/2024, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Council of
Ministers.
The meeting focused on discussing the mechanism for activating Building Information Modeling (BIM)
programs in Iraq.
This participation comes to enhance scientific and professional cooperation between government
sectors and university academic institutions in the field of implementing urban and infrastructure
projects, by promoting the activation of the culture of using Building Information Modeling (BIM)
programs in Iraq to improve project management and increase efficiency and quality in design and
implementation.
Lecturer Dr. Ahmed Louay Ahmed / Head of the Architectural Design Branch, at the regular meeting of

Discussion of a master’s thesis - specialization in architectural technology
Written by sohaibOn Thursday, February 22, 2024, the master’s thesis by the researcher (Tayseer Ihsan Jabbar), entitled
“Green Conservation Technology in Architecture,” was discussed. The thesis aimed to clarify the concept
of green conservation and the extent to which technological progress contributes to greening
preservation buildings in a way that increases their performance and efficiency without compromising
their value. And its original characteristics. The study was able to extract a green preservation strategy
and adapt it in light of the Iraqi Green Code, which essentially excluded buildings of historical and
heritage value. The study concluded with a local approach to greening Iraqi preservation buildings that
balances both preservation indicators and greening indicators based on contemporary technological
capabilities and was applied to a building. The Baghdadi Museum to confirm credibility within the Iraqi
context.

A scientific visit for third-year students - Architectural Design Branch

(Professor Dr. Safaa Al-Din Al-Samarrai) and members of the teaching staff organized a scientific visit for
the students of the third stage / Architectural Design Branch to the Neurological Sentence Hospital in Al-
Rusafa, to review the design and implementation aspects. of the hospital building, to increase students’
knowledge about the project proposal in the architectural design subject for the second semester. The
scientific visit included an extensive tour with the hospital’s engineering staff, a presentation of the
project’s departments and facilities, and an explanation of the functional, constructional, service, and
environmental solutions for hospital buildings of various types.

Communications Engineering in the Green Hall, in the training workshop entitled “Women Leaders,
Challenges and Achievements in the Political Field,” which was held by The Women’s Empowerment
Unit in cooperation with the Department of Registration and Student Affairs at the University of
Technology in cooperation with the Department of Communications Engineering, which was delivered
by the training advisor (Saad Hussein Ali), international lecturer and trainer in the field of preparing
international leaders and trainers. The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the prominent role of
women in political work in Iraq, as Women s participation has witnessed sustained development over
the years, which was reflected in women assuming many governmental and parliamentary positions.

A scientific visit for the students of the third stage / Urban Design Branch to the Al-Shaab public Hospital
under construction to review the design and implementation aspects of the hospital building in a way
that increases the students’ knowledge about the project proposal in the architectural design subject for
the second semester. The scientific visit included an extensive tour with the hospital’s engineering staff
and a presentation of the departments. The project facilities and an explanation of the functional,
constructional, service, and environmental solutions for hospital buildings of various types and the
specificity of the Al-Shaab public hospital as a contemporary style that takes into consideration the
standards of the Iraqi Ministry of Health.

Participation of the Architectural Engineering Department in the interior design workshop at Uruk Private University

Lecturer Enas Ali Salman) participated in the interior design workshop in the Department of Architecture
at Uruk University, entitled “The Role of Acoustic Design in Shaping Interior Space” on Monday,
02/19/2024, and the workshop aimed to clarify integration. Between acoustic design requirements and
other design requirements, the architectural field and interior design are closely linked to what achieves
the functional performance of the space. The workshop also addressed the definition of the most
prominent facilities that focus on good acoustic distribution of their architectural spaces and their
acoustic standards.

The Department of Architecture organizes a workshop at the Iraqi Engineers Syndicate

Mansouriya Hall of the Iraqi Engineers Association on Saturday, 17/2/ 2024 at ten o’clock in the
morning, organized a workshop entitled “The Role of High-Performance Glass in Saving Energy and
Protecting the Environment” in cooperation with Professor Bahij Bahless and engineer Marwan Nabil.
The workshop aimed to introduce the benefits of using glass, the correct methods for choosing the
quality of glass, and the latest techniques in the field of building technology to support the principles of
sustainability.
Mansouriya Hall of the Iraqi Engineers Association on Saturday, 17/2/ 2024 at ten o’clock in the

Heritage”, which focuses on creating a global attraction point that opens horizons for the exchange
and display of archaeological and heritage collections around the world and represents the
international museum system and those concerned with preservation and heritage globally.

The thesis focused on studying the concept of the scenario and its history in architecture, in addition
to highlighting the different roles of the architectural text in drafting the architectural text, such as
clarifying the creative vision, analyzing the surrounding environment, and directing communication
with potential users. The research aimed to explore and analyze the role of the scenario in developing
and improving methodologies for drafting the architectural text, and understanding how it affects the
design process and the interaction between the various architectural elements.

contribution to the developing aspects of parametric typicality to obtain models, shapes, and.
