Scientific visit to the Baghdad Museum and Rashid Street.

Under the supervision of the architectural presentation subject head, Dr. Ahmad Luay, and the teaching staff members (Assistant Prof. Dr. Younis Mahmoud, Lect. Ahmad Rashid, Lect. Sherin Kamel, and Assitant Lecturer Inas Ali), a scientific visit was organized for the second-year students on Thursday, October 24, 2024. The visit aimed to explore the unique features of local architecture, particularly its key elements, components, and materials such as brick and local wood. Additionally, the students were introduced to the details of Baghdadi life and the prevailing customs and traditions of that period through the exhibits within the museum, enhancing their understanding of the local context.

The Department of Architecture mourns the passing of student Ibrahim Mohammed Lutfah Salman.

With deep sorrow and sadness, the Department of Architecture at the Technical University mourns the passing of student Ibrahim Mohammed Lutfah Salman, a third-year student in the Urban Branch, who tragically lost his life in an unfortunate accident.

May God accept the deceased in His vast mercy and grant him a place in His heavenly paradise. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones and pray for their patience and solace during this difficult time.

Indeed, to God we belong and to Him we shall return.

Scientific visit for students of the Architecture Department.

Under the supervision of the course instructor for "Building Services: Lighting and Acoustics," Dr. Qais Abdul Hussein, and Assistant Lecturer Enas Ali Salman, a scientific visit was conducted on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, for third-year students in the Architectural Design branch to the National Theater building in Baghdad.

The purpose of the visit was to explore the acoustic treatments in the theater and enrich the students' scientific knowledge about sound design in auditoriums, ensuring clarity and comfort for the audience. The students learned how to integrate sound systems into architectural design to manage sound quality and reduce unwanted noise, thereby enhancing the auditory experience.

Honoring the top students for the academic year 2023/2024.

Under the supervision of the head of the Psychological and Educational Guidance Unit, Assistant Professor Dr. Huda Mohammed Suleiman, the top students from all academic levels for the 2023/2024 academic year were honored by the Head of the Architecture Department, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Jawad Kazem. The event was attended by the Scientific Assistant, Assistant Professor Dr. Mufeed Ihsan Al-Shawk, and the Head of the Urban Design Branch, Lecturer Dr. Lina Ghanem Yacoub. Certificates of appreciation were distributed to the top students to motivate and encourage them to continue their efforts towards academic excellence.
