Thanks and Appreciation to the Head of the Architectural Department
Written by zahraaThe head of the architectural department, Dr. Ibrahim Jawad Kadhim, received a letter of thanks and appreciation from the Mayoralty of Baghdad in appreciation of the outstanding efforts exerted in Higher Committee of Design
The Department of Architecture hosted Writing Initiative competition titled "writing in Baghdad" project. Mr. Kassem Saudi presented a workshop dedicated to the students of the first stage entitled
"Releasing the Imaginary Power".
The Workshop Idea:
The workshop adopts the concept of brainstorming to encourage students in their early studies of architecture by using imaginative energy to create innovative relationships between the concepts in daily life and then to apply these concepts into the activities of architectural design to free themselves from traditional images and models by creating innovative configurations that represent an additional acknowledgment to the educational process in the study of architecture within the Department of Architecture at the University of Technology.
First Stage Students Starting The Academic Year Of 2018-2019

Prof. Dr. Abdullah Saadon the Assistant of administration and student Affairs attended the welcome meeting with the first stage student, in addition to the faculty members and the staff in charge of the first stage students.
The meeting included a many instruction for the student and explanations for the nature of the study in the department and the sections addition to any disciplinary directions that belong to the university, including the human relations in the community of the university community, the importance of university spaces and furniture.
The Quality Committee also explained to the students the specialization of Architecture, which is concerned with the design of the building within its context, functionally and aesthetically, taking into account other services such as individual requirements, customer among many other things . the Architectural Engineering is concerned with the integration between the services and construction systems of the building with a study of resources and architectural details.
The Department of Architecture at the University of Technology / Alumni Follow-Up Unit held a workshop discussing the use of modern technologies to display architectural projects in the local labor market. The workshop included applications of virtual reality and augmented reality, Attendance at a workshop discussing the application and the process of investments in the projects of academic students in addition to the future projects.
Restoration of Historical Baghdad Center Symposium
Written by zahraaThe Department of Architecture held a Symposium to discuss the restoration of the historic center of Baghdad, which is especially important because it represents the heart of the city, in addition to being the capital of Iraq.
The initiative calls for action to revive and restore this region, reintegrate its elements and increase its urban activities by establishing a platform for serious constructive dialogue and clarifying the directions of future visions and methods for the future of this historic city center.
Third stage Scientific visit to the Fine Arts Institute

Faculty members of the third stage architectural design headed by Dr.Zeinb . Hussein Raouf , Dr. Shamail Mohammed Wajih , Dr. Rana Mazen Mahdi ,Dr. Enas Salem Abdul-Ahad , Assistant lecturer Muhimen Basim,Assistant lecturer .The visit is aimed at learning how to deal with the educational patterns of buildings and to deepen the theoretical knowledge of the student by linking it to the practical application as well as to identify the components and sections of the project as whole.
The visit and the tour included a joint workshop, in which the nature of the study of each department and the nature of the output was discussed, whether a student of Fine Arts Institute or the Department of Architecture, aiming at enhancing the interaction between the governmental ministries and its institutions represented by both parties.
The Department Of Architecture Granted Third Rank In The Tamayouz Award

The Department of Architecture at the University of Technology granted the third rank in the Tamayouz Award for Graduation Projects of the academic year 2017-2018. The winning graduation project belongs to the student Hauraa Rahim, which was designed as a "Knowledge Center at the University of Mosul", it is a pioneering project on the preparation of the central library building at the university aiming at transforming the library into a knowledge center that enhance the bond between the university and the community , which ISIS tried to destroy during the occupation of Mosul.
Congratulation to the University , the department and the distinguished student for this achievement. wishing all the best for all to serve our beloved country

General Meeting at the Department of Architecture with the presence of the President of the University of Technology
Written by zahraaGeneral meeting at the department of architecture was held with the presence of the Prof. Dr. Amin Daway Thamir President of the university of Technology , the head of the department , the academic professors and the staff of the department.
The President of the University delivered a welcome speech to the attendance including a number of aspects, focusing on the concerns of the students who are studying abroad and the benefiting from their experiences in the field of scientific research and technological progress. He also advised to keep pace with developments in different fields of engineering by applying them in the construction and progress of science at the University of Technology as a step forward to the advance in the assessment and classification of the annual Iraqi universities and The ranks of the international universities at the university of technology possess the qualifications and scientific expertise that qualifies us to enter the international classification of engineering universities.
On the other aspect, the head of the department referred to the scientific approach as a method of teaching students and parental care followed by the department stressing the need for high ranks in the annual assessment from faculty members, teaching staff and employees.
During the meeting, some questions were asked by the teaching staff that would increase the experiences to serve the scientific process of the department of architecture.
At the end of the general meeting, the head of department of architecture thanks and appreciates all participants wishing them success in serving and building our beloved Iraq.
PhD. Thesis discussion titled “Digital Embellishment In Architecture " at the Department of Architecture
Written by zahraaThe Student Inas Salim Abdul Ahad at the Department of Architecture has been granted a Ph.D. degree on her thesis titled ““Digital Embellishment In Architecture " which was presented on Sunday 21-10-2018.
The discussion committee was headed by Prof.Dr. Sanaa Satee Abbas and included each of Dr. Areej Kareem Majeed , Dr.Anam Ameen ,Dr.Anwar Subhi Ramadhan ,DR.Safaa Aldeen Husein Alis as members, the thesis supervised by Assit.Prof.Dr.Abdulla Sadon Salman .
The student was granted a doctorate degree in philosophy in architecture. The discussion was attended by most of the master's and doctoral students and researchers in the department .
Department Of Architectural Engineering Held A Condolence Ceremony Honoring One Of Faculty Members

The ceremony attended by the heads of the departments of the university in addition to the faculty members and staff with the family of the deceased.

Written by NajahThe Department of Architecture held on 09/09/2018 and on the halls of the department course of Photoshop for the students of the second stage of the academic year 2018/2019, for the material show and graphic techniques supervision by of the head of the department and has been given the course by lecturer academic Dr. Bashar Shamil , With assistance by numbers of engineers within department The course attracted most of the students of the second stage and approximately 60 students on the other hand the course is going on for two weeks . Asst professor Dr. Bassim Hassan Hashem Al-Majidi deputy for scientific affairs of the department has been welcomed of the students and announced the opening of the course and urged them to take care of this topic because its very important and reflections on the reality of education in the field of architectural design and all stages
