Under the patronage of the University Presidency and in the supervision of the
Administrative Assistant of the Department of Architect Engineering , Dr. Mahdi Saleh
Al-Atabi.The Department of Architecture has been sterilized , in cooperation with the
Director General of Karrada Municipality, Mr. Samir Rahim Al-Azerjawi,. This
campaign has been completed on the vacation day before the final exam date scheduled
for Saturday 7/24/2021.
The aim of this campaign is to prepare a healthy conditions for conducting exams under
Corona pandemic condition, we wish all the students, professors and the employment of
the department fine health and wellness, may God protect them from the consequences
of this epidemic.
The department thanks and appreciate the efforts of the maintenance unit staff for
cleaning and preparing the department to receive students for the attendance exams
In the presence of the Head of the Department of Architecture, the scientific and administrative assistants, the director of the Postgraduate Studies Committee and the Head of the postgraduate Studies Division, with the presence of the supervisors and professors. The seminars were held for master’s students, 2018-2019 group, on Monday 12/7, and the 2019-2020 design session group . In addition to Architectural Design group on Tuesday 7/13, Urban Design on Monday 7/12, and Architectural Technology on Thursday 7/15. The students were discussed and the percentages of achievement were fixed and directed in a way that contributes to the accomplishment of their work according to the research plan of each student.
Under the patronage of the Head of the Department of Architectural Engineering , Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Jawad Kaghim, the Graduate Follow-up Unit, in cooperation with ( Sunaa Al Ibdaa Group of Companies )Creative Makers for Training and Marketing companies, held a workshop entitled “The Road to the Labor Market” on Wednesday 30/6/2021
The lecture was delivered by Mr. Mohsen Jabbar, Director of ( Sunaa Al Ibdaa Group of Companies ). The workshop discussed the subject of labor market requirements, the basic skills that an architecture graduate needs in the labor market, how to create private projects, how to confront and develop solutions to the obstacles facing the graduate in the labor market, strategies for establishing private projects, and how to develop marketing plans for these projects in addition to the most important features of the Iraqi labor market regarding architectural engineering..
The workshop included some training games, competitions, and prizes awarding to the participating students.
The workshop was attended by the head of the department and the scientific and administrative assistants.

Master Thesis Discussion Titled (The Approach as a Strategy for Contemporary Architectural Text Production)

The discussion was held on Sunday, 6/6/2021 at nine A.M, at postgraduate study hall in the Department of Architectural Engineering at the University of Technology.
The discussion focused on the concept of the approach as a strategy and its investment in the production of architectural texts. The concept was studied within different fields in general and architecture field in particular.
The discussion committee was headed by prof.. Dr. Ibrahim Jawad Kadhim and included each of Prof. Dr .Abdullah Sadun Salman ,Dr. Ahmed Abdul Ali Rasheed , as members The thesis is supervised by both Prof .Dr. Abbas Ali Hamza and Dr.Bashar Shamil Kadhim.
After consultation among committee members the student Rawa Ali Younis Al-Moussawi, granted a master's degree with the grade ( Fulfilled).
The graduation projects of the architectural Engineering students winning in the competition of the Iraqi Society of Engineers

The Iraqi Society of Engineers held a festival to distribute awards to the contestants and participants in the annual architect competition for graduation projects for the Architectural Engineering students of the Colleges of Engineering in Iraqi universities. The ceremony was held on Saturday, 12/6/2021 at the association's headquarters.
Ten Iraqi universities participated in the competition, and 49 graduation projects were presented. The projects and designs were submitted by students and graduates of the Department of Architecture and approved by the competition committee.
The Department of Architecture congratulates the student Abd al-Salam Majid Daly for granting the fifth rank for his project “the Multifunctional Cultural professional Center, and for the student, Muhammad Qais Faleh, for granting the sixth rank for his project” The Center for the Development of Computer Technology”.
The Department of Architecture thanked the arbitration committee and to the members of the administrative unit in the association for their great and distinguished efforts in holding this wonderful competition, especially Dr. Shatha Abbas AlAmiry for her great efforts in communication and coordination.

The Architectural Engineering Department at the University of Technological has adopted the blended learning System, where undergraduate students receive lectures in attendance for the applied courses with the continuation of E-learning for theoretical lessons.
On Thursday, 17/6/2021, the head of the Department of Architecture, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Jawad ,the scientific assistants, Prof. Dr. Mofeed Ihsan and the administrative assistant prof. Dr Mahdi Saleh faraj took an inspection tour of the architectural design studios for both third and first stages.
During the tour, student projects were discussed and factuality members’ efforts were valued aiming at preparing perfect architectural designs out of student projects to achieve scientific excellence through efforts and perseverance to ascend International Science Ranking .
Preventive measures against the Corona virus and spatial distancing were emphasized during the meeting with students in addition to health conditions abiding .
The Graduate Follow-Up Unit Honors A Group Of Second-Stage Students
Written by zahraaUnder the direct supervision of the Head of the Department of Architecture, Graduate Follow-up Unit honored the three ranked students in the Revit program online course for engineering design, which was held by the Graduate Follow-up Unit in the Department of Architecture on the 23rd till 30th of last April, with the participation of 71 students from the second stage .The students were trained by the architect Saif Salah El-Din, one of the members of the Graduate Follow-up Unit.
The first three students on the course were honored with a certificate of participation and a letter of thanks and appreciation, as well as a scientific book in human development as a gift to help students build and improve their soft and scientific skills.
On behalf of the head of the department ,the Administrative assistant Dr.Mahdi Salih Faraj and Mr. Mohammed Abdul Karim honored the students.
This honoring come along with the plan of the Graduate Follow-up Unit in the Department of Architecture in developing scientific and soft skills for students and graduates within the skills development program.

Virtual workshop Entitled Generative Design & Parametric Architecture

Generative Design & Parametric Architecture: An Introduction to Futuristic Design Method
The lecture delivered by Professor Firas Salem Nouri, in the Department of Architecture at Ajman University and Dr. Yahiya Adel Ibrahim, a Professor in the Department of Architecture-University of Technology.
The workshop sheds light on the modern concepts of parametric design and generative design and their future prospects, which is a design method that quickly spread all over the world through famous architects such as Zaha Hadid, may God have mercy on her. The workshop will discuss the way she followed in her designs.
This method has dramatically changed the way design strategy is thought of towards a more detailed and sophisticated way of automating any process aiming to reduce or eliminate human design error, in addition to reduce the overall time required to achieve the best design.
The workshop was attended by the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs and Cultural Relations in addition to a large number of the university professors and architects interested in the subject, along with the under and post graduate students in a number of Iraqi and Emirates universities. The participants working actively during the lecture . The scientific assistant praised the lecturers and attendees, as well as the effective steps for developing curricula in the Department of Architecture.

The students were distributed to halls and studios, as an implement measures to prevent corona virus ,according to the guidance of the Health Crisis Cell in accordance with the instructions received from the university presidency.
