Discussion of the PhD Dissertation Titled "Management of Systems in Architecture"
Discussion of the PhD Dissertation Titled "Management of Systems in Architecture"
On Thursday, February 27, 2025, the PhD dissertation of researcher Ahmed Hamid Kazem, titled "Management of Systems in Architecture," was discussed.
The dissertation explores the concept of system management in architecture by analyzing the relationship between latent and apparent systems in both design and administrative processes. It highlights the importance of an integrated management approach for architectural systems, demonstrating how administrative thinking can enhance design quality through the development of an effective management methodology that improves design efficiency. The study also examines the mutual influence of cultural, social, and administrative values in architecture on both explicit and implicit levels.
The research focuses on formulating an integrated model for system management in architecture, based on three key levels:
- Theoretical Model
- Organizational Model
- Practical Model
This model aims to enhance architectural efficiency and improve the quality of architectural output.
The study presents a flexible administrative model that allows architects to achieve balance between creative aspects and functional requirements by integrating intellectual and organizational systems. This model leads to improved design quality and increased efficiency in design processes and can be applied across various temporal and spatial contexts.
The dissertation offers a set of recommendations directed at various institutions, including academic bodies, consulting offices, the Iraqi Engineers Syndicate, and governmental organizations, aiming to establish standards that enhance architectural professional practices in Iraq at both theoretical and practical levels.
