Holding a Workshop Titled: "The Use of Laser Measuring Devices in Interior Design Works"
The Graduate Follow-up, Training, and Employment Unit in the department organized a workshop today, Thursday, February 13, 2025, titled:
"The Use of Laser Measuring Devices in Interior Design Works."
The workshop was dedicated to fifth-year students to train them in essential technical skills required for the job market.
It included a theoretical segment covering:
- Types of measuring devices and their features.
- An introduction to laser measuring devices, their types, and benefits.
- The various functions these devices offer architects in interior design.
The practical segment followed, allowing participants to apply their theoretical knowledge using the measuring devices provided by the Graduate Follow-up, Training, and Employment Unit.

The Head of the Architecture Department inspected the first-year students.
he Head of the Architecture Department, Professor Dr. Abbas Ali Hamza, conducted an inspection visit to the first-year students on their last day of the first semester today, Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
The visit was attended by the First-Year Coordinator for the Architectural Branch in the Architectural Design I course, Lecturer Dr. Mustafa Kamel.
During the visit, the Head of the Department provided valuable guidance as part of the Day Sketch activity for Architectural Design I. He also reviewed the students' final submissions for the Architectural Drawing course.

On Thursday, February 6, 2025, the Department Council Meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Abbas Ali Hamza, Head of the Department of Architecture, with the presence of assistant heads, branch heads, the department rapporteur, and the representative of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate.
The meeting focused on discussing student affairs, postgraduate studies, and reviewing the reports from the Architectural Design and Urban Design branches, as well as the examination committees.

On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, first-year students from the Architectural Design Branch completed their final submission for the Studio Design Project. The project aimed to expand students' understanding of key design aspects that contribute to a successful outcome, including:

Information Gathering – The initial phase of design serves as an opportunity to collect essential data about the project, including its requirements.

Concept Development – Establishing a clear architectural identity and design direction. The concept should reflect user needs and provide solutions to challenges surrounding the project.

Site Analysis – Designing a studio requires thoughtful decisions to ensure the project integrates well with its surroundings.

Interior Space Planning – Organizing required spaces and transforming them into key design elements while determining their locations based on functional relationships. Effective spatial coordination enhances movement flow within the studio.

Aesthetic Considerations – The design aims to achieve visual appeal by selecting appropriate materials and colors, creating an inviting and engaging environment for users.
