Workshop: "Concept Presentation Skills in Residential Project Marketing"
On Sunday, February 23, 2025, the Alumni Follow-up, Training, and Employment Unit of the department organized a workshop titled "Concept Presentation Skills in Residential Project Marketing." The workshop was designed for fourth-year students to enhance their ability to present ideas clearly and confidently, as part of the Professional Development Program at the University of Technology.
The workshop included a theoretical session presented by Lecturer Najah Anwar, covering:
- Architectural tools for presenting design concepts
- Fundamentals of visual and verbal communication
- Body language techniques when engaging with clients
- Strategies to improve concept presentation skills for housing projects, ensuring that clients understand the project’s potential and are encouraged to invest in residential units
The practical session allowed students to apply their theoretical knowledge by presenting their design concepts for the Young Entrepreneurs’ Housing Project in Baghdad. Several faculty administrators participated as prospective clients and evaluators, assessing the students’ presentation skills. The session was supervised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Bilal Samir Ali.

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al-Ghaban, President of the University of Technology, and Prof. Dr. Abbas Ali Hamza, Head of the Architecture Engineering Department, the Cultural Awareness Festival for Architecture Engineering Students was officially launched in conjunction with the inauguration of the department’s library.
The festival featured the "Tebadol" (Exchange) Initiative, aimed at book and engineering supply exchanges between students and faculty members. This initiative promotes resource reuse, knowledge sharing, and encourages reading.
Additionally, the festival included various cultural activities designed to strengthen academic and cultural collaboration between students and faculty. Highlights included:
- An exhibition of fourth-year projects showcasing student work.
- A Fifth-Year Experience Exchange Corner, where final-year students shared written advice and insights for their peers.
The festival was supervised and attended by faculty members, along with a distinguished group of fourth-year students. The supervising professors were:

Inauguration of the Architecture Engineering Department Library
On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, the esteemed President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Ghaban, inaugurated the Architecture Engineering Department Library following its renovation. The event was attended by the Head of the Architecture Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Abbas Ali Hamza, along with the respected assistants and the esteemed heads of the Architectural and Urban branches.
During the ceremony, Mrs. Badour Youssef, the library supervisor, provided an overview of the library’s vital role in supporting students and researchers in the field of Architectural Engineering. She emphasized the library’s rich collection of books, dissertations, theses, and valuable academic publications, which contribute significantly to architectural education and research across universities.

A scientific visit was organized for third-year students from both the Architectural and Urban branches to the Heart of the World Hotel on Thursday, February 20, 2025, accompanied by the faculty members of the Architectural Design course:

This visit provided an excellent opportunity for students to gain practical insights into hotel design, construction, and hospitality services.
Objectives of the Scientific Visit:
- Understanding the design principles of five-star hotels in terms of form and functionality.
- Studying operational processes such as reception, food services, housekeeping, and maintenance.
- Exploring modern technologies used in hotel design and management.
- Analyzing sustainability strategies (energy efficiency, waste management, resource utilization).
