The comprehensive examination for doctoral students - the academic year 2022-2023
Under the patronage of the Head of the Architectural Engineering Department, Professor Dr. Ibrahim
Jawad Kadhem, with the presence of the Scientific Associate, Assistant Professor Dr. Mufid Ihsan Al-
Shouk, and Professor Dr. Abdullah Saadoun Salmanin the Chairman of the Graduate Studies Committee
in addition to the Graduate Studies Committee members, the Comprehensive examination for doctoral
students took place on Thursday, 18 of January 2024 for the academic year 2022-2023.
We wish them success and prosperity.

Master Thesis Discussion Titled “Parametric Possibility in the Architecture Product”
The Student ((Ahmed Kadhem Alwan))) at the Department of Architecture has been granted a
master's degree in Architecture on his thesis titled “Parametric Possibility in the Architecture
Product”
The discussion was held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, in the Department of Architectural
Engineering at the University of Technology.
The thesis aimed to clarify the concept of parametric possibility and technological progress
contribution to the developing aspects of parametric typicality to obtain models, shapes, and.
Sustainable design solutions.
The thesis concluded the ability of parametric typicality to accommodate the deep structure
of sustainable nature models and control the results due to the parameters connection and
changing the geometry of the parametric model to achieve quick, responsive dynamic
behaviors following environmental developments to achieve sustainability.
-The discussion committee was headed by Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Mohsen Jaafar Al-
Khafaji -Department of Architectural Engineering - University of Technology.

Architectural Engineering Department Participation in the Scientific Research Symposium in Architecture and Planning at King Saud University
The Department of Architectural Engineering, represented by (Ph.D. student Sarah Kubba) with her
research titled “Adaptive Flexibility of City’s Complex Patterns” in addition to (Lecturer Shahad Abdel
Abbas Hamoudi) with her research titled “The Morphologically Impact of Digital Architecture on the
Strategic Value of the Urban Fabric Using Digital Analysis Methodology - The New Central Bank of Iraq “
Case Study”.
Both researches were supervised by (Prof. Dr. Wahda Shukur Al-Hankawi) one of the faculty member in
the architecture department.
The Scientific Research Symposium in Architecture and Planning titled “Qualitative Research in Light of
the National Vision 2030,” which was held in the College of Architecture and Planning at King Saud
University on the 4th and 5th Rajab 1445 (Hijri Calendar), dated as the 15th—16 of January 2024.
The symposium presented peer-reviewed scientific research on several topics related to architecture
and planning.
