On Thursday, November 28, 2024, the Master's thesis defense for the researcher (Hadeer Yahya Mohammed) took place, titled "Elegance in Architecture: The Presence of the Act of Elegance in Shaping Architectural Outputs." The thesis focused on the concept of elegance as one of the general and universal concepts that has recently gained attention in the world of architecture. It is considered highly significant in both art and architecture, playing a crucial role in adding a layer of aesthetic complexity, showcasing human sensitivity, and ensuring high quality in the design and production processes of architectural forms.

The thesis aimed to extract the most important features, characteristics, mechanisms, and levels of the presence of the act of elegance in shaping architectural outputs. Therefore, the study addressed the dimensions of elegance, which include (moral, formal aesthetic, and standard criteria), and analyzed the presence of elegance in architectural outputs at its three levels: (standard, formal, and intellectual).

The thesis concluded that the presence of the act of elegance in the process of shaping architectural outputs is an objective that encompasses different formal aspects and various manifestations and levels, depending on spatial and temporal variables. It is about the excellence in shaping the form to highlight the best characteristics of the material that makes up the architectural output. Its presence depends on the nature, purpose, and surrounding context of the building.
